As a woman your emphasis should be to focus on exercises created specifically for women. Our object is flat stomachs and toned legs and not some killer biceps or rock hard abs that the guys so desperately want. We want to build lean muscle without bulking up.

It goes without saying that not all exercises are created equal so you should focus on exercises that are recommended for the trouble spots that are unique to women. Cardio workout routines are great for your heart but will not benefit your lower body. You need exercises that strengthen your legs ... exercises that will challenge your body where you need the challenge.

Before choosing a legs workout routine you must be sure to make time in your day to actually DO the exercise movements. Make the time now so you can enjoy the rewards later. Commit to three to five days a week to work primarily on your legs and buttocks.

Find a way to also incorporate exercise that you enjoy somewhat into the workout routine you select. This gives you a better chance of sticking with things when you get fed up or discouraged because you haven't seen results as fast as you wished for. And more than anything set realistic goals for your body.

Wouldn't a selection of simple and easy-to-follow lower body exercises where you will be able to notice benefits in a reasonable time frame help you out? Of course they would! And while they would continue to require some work and effort on your part, with the right exercises you would be able to see results in your legs and buttocks area sooner than with most leg exercises at home you may have tried.
